Panviva: How to train associates using Panviva

While Panviva specializes in knowledge management and performance support, it also works well as a training tool. Here are the steps you can take to successfully train associates using your Panviva system.
Step 1: Get rid of your old training materials
This includes training guides/binders, job aids, reference materials, etc. Anything you used to give out to participants in class is no longer needed with Panviva.

One of the reasons for acquiring Panviva is to ensure that your associates are always referencing the most up-to-date information for your processes. This is hard to accomplish if you are still handing out training materials in class. New associates are more likely to trust that content vs. the ones in Panviva.

Step 2: Update instructor notes to include references to Panviva
As the instructor covers specific topics in class, they can guide the associates to those topics within Panviva. The instructor notes that would point to specific pages in a training guide/binder can now point to documents in Panviva. You can use folder paths or search terms to guide the associates and have them follow along using the Panviva document as they would have a training guide/binder.

Step 3: Plan your exercises around Panviva
When building out exercises for class, include the use of Panviva. Some ideas include:
Scavenger Hunts
Have associates find specific information using Panviva. This will teach them how to quickly search for content they may need while helping customers.
Scenarios
Plan exercises around some of the most common or most difficult scenarios the associates will face. Ask them to answer questions or solve the scenario using Panviva as a guide.
Q&A Games
Questions can be about both navigating Panviva and its content.
Step 4: Provide Panviva training materials
In step 1, we suggested getting rid of all your old training materials. In this step, we suggest providing Panviva-related materials instead. This can be a quick reference card on how to navigate through Panviva or a job aid on searching for topics. Providing materials around Panviva will encourage your associates to use Panviva for all their knowledge/help needs.

As you update and develop your training, think of Panviva as your new training guide/binder. Whichever way you would use the material in training, use Panviva instead.
